Built with an enhanced T-bar grip and oversized controls, it ensures confident handling while wearing heavy work gloves. Its distinctive red accents allow rapid identification as an ATEX-certified device.
The MTP8550Ex features two sunlight-readable transflective colour screens: a high-resolution front display and a unique top-mounted display. The top display allows users to check channels and alerts at a glance without unclipping the radio from their belt. A full keypad simplifies text messaging and SDS navigation, complemented by a 360-degree status LED indicator.
User safety is supported by an integrated Fall Alert (Man Down) sensor and an easily accessible emergency button. Multi-constellation GNSS delivers accurate outdoor positioning, while BTLE powers indoor beacon tracking. The 1.2 W speaker system includes howling suppression technology for clear voice calls.
