Product features:
TETRA – screenless 10 W (Class 2) unit supporting DMO Repeater/Gateway and DIMETRA Connect Wi-Fi fallback
RS232 (9-pin SubD) and 25-pin SubD ports for direct M2M and telemetry device connectivity
Wi-Fi OTAP updates with full management via Virtual Control Head or Android app
Built-in Bluetooth 5.3, GNSS (GPS/Galileo/GLONASS/BeiDou), and certified IP54 / EN 50155 ruggedness • Product description
The Motorola MXM600 Databox is specifically designed for systems requiring reliable data transmission, machine-to-machine (M2M) communication, and covert vehicular installations. By eliminating the physical control head, the compact Databox transceiver saves space and allows easy mounting in equipment racks, under seats, or in vehicle trunks. Users can manage the unit remotely using a Virtual Control Head or via the collaborative M-Radio Control Android app.
Featuring the most comprehensive set of physical ports in the MXM600 series, the Databox includes a dedicated 9-pin SubD RS232 port and a 25-pin SubD connector. These interfaces enable direct connections to mobile data computers, telemetry equipment, and Peripheral Equipment Interfaces (PEI). Its Class 2 (10 W) RF transmitter combined with an external antenna ensures reliable SDS messaging and packet data transmission from areas with weak TETRA reception.

The Motorola MXM600 Databox features automated codeplug detection and control head alignment, streamlining multi-vehicle installations. Integrated Wi-Fi allows radio administrators to execute over-the-air programming (OTAP) and firmware updates whenever the vehicle enters a designated depot Wi-Fi zone. Full compatibility with MTM5000 series cabling and CPS/ITM software tools dramatically lowers total cost of ownership (TCO).
Intended Use and Application
The Motorola MXM600 Databox is tailored for on-board data systems, railways, telemetry stations, covert vehicles, and automated M2M infrastructure.
Railways & public transit: on-board data hub for passenger information, CAD/AVL integration, and telemetry (EN 50155 certified).
Covert & unmarked vehicles: concealed mounting controlled via Virtual Control Head software or Bluetooth smartphone app.
SCADA & critical infrastructure: reliable SDS and Multi-Slot Packet Data reporting from remote utility substations.
