Aksel was established in 1990. The company's main mission was radio communications. First contacts with business partners were initiated at CeBIT in Hannover – one of the largest events in the telecommunications industry. The opening of the Polish market for modern technologies led to enormous interest in CB Radio, which was a dominating part of our activity at the time, similarly to other companies in the sector. The first professional terrestrial mobile radio communications networks were built for the mining sector and the Polish Customs Service.
In 1993 Aksel established cooperation with Motorola – a global leader in radio communications. In the following years a distribution network was created in Poland, highly praised and awarded in 1997. Aksel was qualified to become a member of an elite group of Motorola Strategic Partners – 10 leading companies from Central and Eastern Europe.
One of the main principles of our company's activity was to provide comprehensive services: consultation, design, implementation and technical service. In cooperation with legislative authorities – the Polish Radio Communications Agency and its subsequent incorporations – we actively participated in launching several generations of Motorola equipment on the Polish market.
In 1994 Aksel became an operator of one of three advanced radio communications networks based on the trunking technology, called AKSEL-NET, and after the launch of cellular communications – a partner of one of the Polish operators – ERA GSM.
The following years brought the implementation of professional radio communications systems not only for voice communications, but also for telemetry and remote control, based on our own solutions. The key market segments for our company include mining, customs, municipal transport companies, water supply and sewage utilities, power utilities, public safety services: Police, Fire Department, Medical Emergency Services, Mountain Rescue Service, Municipal Guards, Crisis Management.
Strategic projects implemented by our company include: Flood Monitoring System form the Institute for Meteorology and Water Management, Emergency Radio Communications System, designed under the KBN programme in cooperation with the Central Mines Rescue Station, Trunked Radio Communications System for the Warsaw Trams, MPK Wrocław and MPK Kraków (Kraków Rapid Tram), and also digital radio communications networks based on the modern DMR (Digital Mobile Radio) standard for the Criminal Police, Medical Emergency Service and Tatra Mountains National Park. We should also mention spectacular activities taken in extraordinary situations, such as servicing radio equipment during forest fires in Kuźnia Raciborska (1992), radio deliveries for flood rescue (1997) and organization of communications system for protection of the Council of Europe Summit in Warsaw (2004).
In 2002 a new head office was built, with a surface area of 2000 sq mts, creating conditions for further development and expansion of our technical base. We invested in modern equipment and a vehicle fleet, and implemented a management support software package.
In 2006 we expanded our activity with solutions for the rail sector – first, fuel monitoring systems, then also equipment produced by a German company Deuta-Werke – travel data recorders and TFT terminals, based on which the Timetable software was developed as a tool for the train driver. A dynamic growth in demand for solutions in the railway sector has become an inspiration to establish a team of specialists in this area. In 2013 the company has successfully undergone an audit by the main companies in the Polish railway market, PESA and NEWAG, becoming a Qualified Supplier.
The multitude of technologies and standards has led to demand for integration (convergence) solutions, posing a challenge to the team of programmers: a dispatcher application was developed under the name ConSel, dedicated mostly to operate with DMR-standard digital radio networks. The application received Motorola's approval to cooperate with MOTOTRBO devices, and Aksel has obtained Motorola Application Partner status as the only company in Poland. ConSel has enjoyed numerous implementations, achieving a dominating position in the Medical Emergency sector.
Aksel actively participates in key events in the ICT sector in Poland and abroad, including the National Radio Communications, Broadcasting and Television Conference (with participation in the Programme Committee), Critical Communications World Congress, PMRExpo (Professional Mobile Radio and Control Rooms), InnoTrans (International Trade Fair for Transport Technology Innovative Components, Vehicles, Systems), as well as trade fairs, exhibitions and industry conferences for our Strategic Partners. The company also cooperates with academic institutions – the Universities of Technology in Wrocław, Warsaw and Gdańsk. We offer internships for students from universities and technical schools.
We put emphasis on quality, comprehensiveness and customer satisfaction. In 2006 we implemented and we still maintain an ISO 9000:2001 quality control system. The achievements of our company and staff have gained recognition in the form of various awards, including the Rail Transport Leader award, the Ministry of Communications award, the Gold Medal of Merit for Firefighting, and the Gold and Bronze Cross of Merit.
Aksel takes active part in social events in our home town and country. Every year we provide radio communications and sound system for the Rybnik Walking Pilgrimage to Jasna Góra, with more than 3 thousand pilgrims. We also supported the "Safe First Class Student" action of the Police in Rybnik.
Our company's greatest potential are our employees, and we try to offer them the best possible conditions for work and development of qualifications. We also motivate them and award their achievements.
Everyone who wants to work hard in a creative and effective manner will find their place at AKSEL.
